Sunflower Beauty

When I heard that the Sunflower Farm in Chilliwack was open I was so excited! I posted on social media asking if anyone would be game for a mini session amongst the massive flowers and this amazing woman was the first to say yes! We had a blast and I am so grateful to have had the chance to spend some time with her and her friend, literally traipsing around the fields getting lost amongst massive Giants of plants. The smile on her face says it all. What a lovely evening. Thank you!

Lifestyle Photography Session

When I was asked to do two back to back sessions for social media content for these two and their home businesses, of course I said yes! It was so fun coming into their space and learning what it was that they do. They are Life Coaches and also have a Health product business. I’d say these two are quite the power couple! After all was said and done, I ended up having Laurie as my life coach! Didn’t see that one coming! But in all sincerity, she really is an amazing life coach. You should check out her site at www.laurieshopland.com and also their other company, www.shoplandhealth.ca. You won’t regret it!

Book Launch Family Celebration

I loved being able to document this wonderful family as they celebrated their mom launching her book. Their family sacrificed a lot to help her reach her goals and seeing the support and love for her, and each other, was evident during our session. Hearing her husband talk about how proud he was of her was so lovely. I am grateful to have been able to share this small moment in time! Congratulations!

Family

I am a bit biased when I get to blog about good friends. People that, even when you don’t see them for a while, are able to pick up right where we left off. Taking photos of those you care about can be both exciting and terrifying as one; they know where you live, and two; they are being incredibly trusting ;). Life got really crazy for both our families for a few years and I’m so glad we were able to touch base again and have this wonderful evening to catch up and take photos. Truer friends are hard to find.

Harrison Elopement

So this was a first for me! And I’ve gotta say, I truly believe Elopements are the way to go! Everyone was so relaxed and after the tiny ceremony with only 10 of us, we stood there and looked at each other and said, “Now what do we do?” Then out came the Champagne and we started having fun in the rain taking photos along Harrison Lake. No deadlines, just the wonderful chance to soak all of it in, and we actually did get soaked lol, but we made it through the ceremony before the crazy weather rolled in! Harrison Lake is such a stunning backdrop and a beautiful place to bring this lovely family together. Thank you for reaching out to me! It was so much fun!

Birthday Present for Mom

Ok, so as you can tell in the photos, we had A LOT of fun! The biggest joke, which I have permission to share, was that these would make great E-harmony pics, “Farmers apply here.” Hahahahaha!

In all honesty though, this was the sweetest gift this Momma’s girls could have given her. It was so special and I was so grateful to get to spend time with these amazing women. I could not get the smile off my face for hours. So much laughter and joy.

Growing Up

One thing I absolutely love about this business is the people who keep coming back year after year. I love getting to see kids grow up and especially this family as they have been supporting my tiny little business for years now. THANKYOU!

For me it’s about the people, bringing a smile to their faces when they really don’t feel like it. Bringing out genuine laughter. Helping siblings look like they actually like each other (just kidding, they adore each other) and helping ease anxiety and frustration. But most of all I love helping people feel valued and cared for and my hope is that it comes out in the photos I have the privilege of taking. I think these kids are super awesome and one day I hope to convince their parents to get in front of a camera too! 😉

Sweet 14

What a fun way to celebrate turning 14! Dinner and a photoshoot at the beach! Thanks for letting me be a part of this awesome celebration! It was EPIC!!!!

Grad Part Deux

Well I have to say that it was super exciting getting to photograph a fellow redhead! The second half of the Grad photo session was at the beautiful Tuscan Gardens in Abbotsford. What a wonderful setting and so much colour my eyes were hurting. These two were so fun to hang out with and also their family and friends that were all watching close by. No pressure haha! It was a beautiful day of celebration and I was glad I got too take part in a small piece of their special day. Happy Grad 2019!

Grad 2019 Part One

So I arrived expecting to take some portraits of the fine young man in the orange tie and arrived to what looked like a car show going on. How cool was that? A couple of his buddies came over with cars and we had an epic mini shoot. But this was just the beginning. There were a few more hours ahead of us and we had more places to go and people to meet! Check out Part Deux!
